Why is Ridwell no longer picking up batteries in Gresham, OR?

We’re excited to share that we’ve been informed by Gresham officials that, starting July 1, 2022, batteries will be accepted for recycling by your municipal curbside collection program. This is thanks to your passion for wasting less and recycling more, which has inspired local governments around the Portland area to add new items to their municipal curbside recycling services.

Because Ridwell provides services that are complementary to those already available in the communities in which we operate, we are removing Batteries as a pickup category for our members in Gresham effective July 1, 2022.
